A strong "Niche" act with class, pizzazz and a great
track record, Annie Maclachlan, Shari Lynn and Rose Marie Barbee are the Bells Of
Boogie and Blues, The Savoy Sisters. A powerhouse vocal trio who share a mutual love for the great standards and vocal styles of the 30's and 40's, they deftly deliver the music of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Fats Waller and other great artists of the swing era in three part harmony especially arranged for them by award winning arranger Ray Kaneyama. |
The trio was formed in 1985 as The Jive Sisters for a convention show that called for a "USO" type trio (The Andrews Sisters). Since their formation The Savoy Sisters have appeared for the SOS at the Outrigger Main Showroom, an engagement at the Dunes in Las Vegas and a new years engagement with Tom Jones. In 1989 they produced a recording which was nominated for Hawaii's version of the Grammy, The Hoku Award. Currently the group enjoys headline status on the cruise ship SS Independence. It was aboard this ship that The Savoy Sisters were privileged to meet Maxine Andrews who, after hearing them gave The Savoy Sisters her full endorsement to carry on in the "Andrews Sisters" tradition, saying "yours is the most authentic sound I've heard. You've got the style and the harmonies, keep singing".
With the popularity that vocal jazz of the 30's and 40's is currently enjoying and the resurgence of "swing", The Savoy Sisters brand of music is more in demand than ever for convention shows and private parties.
